Instahyre Salary Insight ("the Extension") is a Chrome extension that shows market salary estimates when you view a job listing on Instahyre. This policy explains what information the Extension accesses and how it is used.

Information we access

When you open a job on Instahyre, the Extension may read:

• Company name, job title, location, and salary-related fields from the Instahyre page or API response
• Public salary information from third-party salary websites such as AmbitionBox
• AmbitionBox session cookies in your browser, only to check whether you are logged in and to fetch salary data in your session

Information we do not collect

The Extension does not collect or store:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address
• Passwords or other authentication credentials
• Payment or credit card information
• Your general browsing history across websites
• Keystrokes, mouse activity, or unrelated user activity

How data is used

Data is used only to display salary insight for the Instahyre job you are viewing. Salary lookup results may be cached locally on your device for up to 6 hours to reduce repeated requests. The Extension does not send your data to our servers.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or transfer user data to third parties. The Extension contacts salary websites directly from your browser to retrieve public salary information for display in the panel.

Data storage

Cached salary results and minimal extension settings are stored locally in your browser using Chrome extension storage. You can remove this data by uninstalling the Extension or clearing extension data in Chrome.

Children

The Extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
